23.-27. August, 2004
After a tours to Tangermünde in 2002 and along the polish coast of the Baltic Sea in 2003, Jenny and I decided to continue the tradition with a tour along our dear Elbe though Bohemia. Started in Schöna and just rode past Decin to Nebocady on Monday. There we camped and ate a hearty bohemian dinner. On Tuesday, the weather turned bad and it rained alot with a cold wind. We rode on, however, and made it to Melnik, a beautiful wine city on the Elbe. There we made camp again and enjoyed a big pasta dinner. In the morning we went up to the old city and had a look around. Most interesting was the view of the Mouldau flowing into the Elbe. After that, we headed back towards Germany on the other side of the ELbe and camped again near Usti in Brna. We got to camp early, so we had time to take a side tour to the caste Schreckenstein. There we had a beautiful view of the ELbe and enjoyed a fine dinner. We went back to camp and met a nice fellow named Felix. Felix had rode from Potsdam to Dresden the day before and from there to Brna on this day. His goal was Budapest. We went out for a drink at the local Karl-Mai-Saloon and had a pleasant evvening. On Thursday we rode the entire way back to Radebeul, which was long and cold for Jenny. Next time we will not ride so far in one day: I promise, Jenny!
